Default Loved Old Shield Stance but now what?

Ok, So I decided to pull my tank out of the dust...and play him again....and wow....I noticed my shield stance is no longer 16 secs, but 6 secs with 15sec recharge......sigh...I feel it doesnt last long enough to stand my ground....any ideas to swap some skills out to make my tanking more viable and as effective as the old shield stance? yes i was aware of skill changes but never noticed the warrior stuff...

Tanking is dead unless it is for Domain of Anguish.

I suppose... You could use more useful skills instead now? Like, maybe... Executioner's Strike? The warrior stances got buffed crazy, btw. Only dumbass stance tanks moaned, everyone else adapted and moved on. (read: They're actually worth bringing to a PvP skirmish, monks totally wtfpwn silly 'sins).

Tanking is a waste of time and a party space outside of DoA. And in DoA, people use solid defense skills (Dolyak Sig, Stoneflesh Aura) as opposed to lame dodging stances.

Edit - It's called a *Warrior*, not a *Tank*.

Tanking was always dead - Damage Warriors have always been better, even in PvE. If you must use defensive skills, they're called "Watch Yourself!" and "Shields Up!"

Everything else is about killing the beasties faster, (5 or 6 hit adrenal chains are not unheard of.)

except in DoA, which is what he mentioned. if you dont have serious dedicated aggro control there (where a warrior with just "WY!" and "Shields Up!" will be dead in seconds), things can end very badly.

Roger that. Even with a good tank, things go can south real fast.

As others have said though, if you're not playing DoA then you'd be best to go for a high DPS build and glory in the bloodshed that Warriors can produce.

Skipping the mandatory "tanking is dead" and "warriors shouldn't tank" comments, to answer the actual question, Shield Stance was actually made better, if you intend to use it for tanking. Now you can chain it with Defensive Stance to have almost 100% stance coverage.
